Use that Lemon Peel !

Sherry: I got this email from a friend. it’s more than food for thought. I’m amazed at the parts of food we throw away. I’m equally surprised at how many things surrounding what we eat are poisonous. Is there no end to the learning process? Who would be thinking that lemon peels are that nutritious. Who would think that tomato leaves are dangerous?

The following are the essentials of the email. I hate waste, because it wastes my energy and …just seems wrong!

___________                                  _______________

Grate and use the entire lemon!

The e-mail:

Many professionals in restaurants and eateries are using or consuming the entire lemon and nothing is wasted.
How can you use the whole lemon without waste? the lemon in the freezer section of your refrigerator. Once
the lemon is frozen, get your grater, and shred the whole lemon (no need to peel it) and sprinkle it on top of your foods.
Sprinkle it to your whisky, wine, vegetable salad, ice cream, soup,
noodles, spaghetti sauce, rice, sushi, fish dishes.
Lemon peels contain as much as 5 to 10 times more vitamins than the lemon juice itself.

It’s also good that lemon peels are health rejuvenators in eradicating
toxic elements in the body.

Lemon (Citrus) is a miraculous product to kill cancer cells. It is 10,000 times stronger than chemotherapy.
Why do we not know about that? Because there are laboratories interested in
making a synthetic version that will bring them huge profits. Its taste is pleasant and it does not produce the
horrific effects of chemotherapy.

The most interesting is the effect it produces on cysts and tumors. This plant is a proven remedy against
cancers of all types. Some say it is very useful in all variants of cancer. It is considered also as an anti microbial spectrum against bacterial infections and fungi, effective against internal parasites and worms, it regulates blood pressure which is too high and an antidepressant, combats stress and nervous disorders.
The source of this information is fascinating: it comes from one of the largest drug manufacturers in the world, says that after more than 20 laboratory tests since 1970, the extracts revealed that: It destroys the malignant cells in 12 cancers, including colon, breast, prostate, lung and pancreas …The compounds of this tree showed 10,000 times better than
the product Adriamycin, a drug normally used chemotherapeutic in the world, slowing the growth of cancer cells. And what is even more astonishing: this type of therapy with lemon extract only destroys malignant cancer cells and it does not affect healthy cells.

My bottle of dried Lemon Zest

Sherry: I don’t know about the truth of the cancer-killing claims, but it’s a lemon. What could it hurt to use it all? It doesn’t sound too harmful when I already eat the inside, have tested the bitter parts from curiosity and put the zest in baking, so I don’t see any reason to not use it all. One problem is to find a lemon that hasn’t been contaminated with pesticides and the like.

There are organic fruits out there, but I don’t remember if I’ve seen organic lemons up here. I remember learning about the ‘whole spectrum’ value of it nutritionally. There is very little a lemon doesn’t have that’s good for us.

I think that more often we need to consider the whole plant, but cautiously. It seems like there’s a hundred natural cures for cancer now, but not nearly so many people are getting cured. I would rather not go crazy on one cancer curing vegetable or fruit, but try to eat everything God gave us in a balanced moderation.

…but Yay for the lemon!

So if you consumes the pesticides, used on lemons, which are cancer causing then everything should be neutral right. :)

Of course pesticides probably cause the hundred other types of cancer that lemons don’t fight. :(

  2. Excellent post. I am sad to say that Inhave to peel everything because the fruits and vegetables in the store are covered in wax. I read a sign in the store recently that pointed out the wax would not come off with washing. I think the wax may contain soybean product which I cannot eat. However I don’t know how to confirm this – yet. So I am quite angry about the situation. I deserve access to produce that is NOT modified poisoned it coated in unknown crap. Sigh.

  3. I also deserve full disclosure on each and everything that has an ingredient besides the actual fruit.

This says that it is false as stated. Lower in the article you vpcsn read the actual test results. In the end I plan to eat more organic lemons. If I can get the wax off.

  5. Naomi says:

I wonder if the wax acts like other waxes and can be taken off by rubbing oil on it.
    Here is a link:
I don’t know if you could get enough off so that you wouldn’t have allergic reactions to the wax, though.
I just use essential oils (organic).

What do you think?
