My seedling nursery

I had my seedlings under grow lights last night to give them a boost. The sun has been hidden for awhile. I put them back in the window this morning for whatever daylight they can pick up. They look a bit spindly so I pruned the Nasturtiums back (tallest on left, below), but made sure I left the bottom couple leaves to feed the plant. Pruning too harshly will cripple them. I’m growing the trailing type of Nasturtium They look so beautiful falling down through my rock gardens.

The rest of the plants are ok, but I’m really displeases with the Trailing Petunias (2nd from left). Only a few of them are doing well this year-there was originally 9X8 plants. The vast majority are stunted or dying :( They seem to get started and then just dry up and turn brown. I don’t know why! I haven’t let them dry out. It seems like the few that did well in the beginning are having the most fun. The rest make me feel sad. They are expensive to buy, and will be really missed by me and my flower pots on the deck.

This photo embodies my dream of the perfect way to grow bedding out plants. It’s brilliant! Beautiful and functional.
My plants sit on the floor in my kitchen, taking up space and looking like I always have a project going. I’m sure it drives my hubby nuts.

I have a shelf suspended at the top of the window with a grow light above it in the ceiling.I know your quandery, I’ve had them on the floor for years…yay for bay windows. Want a pic of the shelf?

I really like the counter a lot. What side of the house is this on?

The bay window is south facing for the sunlight. The surface is just high enough to make a good sitting area. I wouldn’t use tile again since it attracts the cold from the window. Do you want any other pictures put up?

I would love to see more pictures. :)
