I had my seedlings under grow lights last night to give them a boost. The sun has been hidden for awhile. I put them back in the window this morning for whatever daylight they can pick up. They look a bit spindly so I pruned the Nasturtiums back (tallest on left, below), but made sure I left the bottom couple leaves to feed the plant. Pruning too harshly will cripple them. I’m growing the trailing type of Nasturtium They look so beautiful falling down through my rock gardens.
The rest of the plants are ok, but I’m really displeases with the Trailing Petunias (2nd from left). Only a few of them are doing well this year-there was originally 9X8 plants. The vast majority are stunted or dying They seem to get started and then just dry up and turn brown. I don’t know why! I haven’t let them dry out. It seems like the few that did well in the beginning are having the most fun. The rest make me feel sad. They are expensive to buy, and will be really missed by me and my flower pots on the deck.
